Cyclowax Basic Wax
The chain has been treated with Cyclowax Basic Wax, a hot wax that is suitable for all conditions. So you can use the chain just as well for your rainy commuter rides as your fast gravel races.

Hot wax
Hot wax is an innovative form of lubrication for cyclists looking for maximum performance and minimum maintenance. Dipping your chain in melted wax adds a durable, clean layer that repels dirt and reduces wear. Maintenance of your hot waxed chain
Cyclowax recommends re-waxing the chain every 300 - 500 km. Before doing so, you don't need to degrease it, unless it is very dirty. If this is the case, clean the chain by putting it in boiling water, then dry before re-applying the wax. It is also advisable to regularly check your chain for wear: if it is more than 50% worn, you should replace it.
